We have created a "Meet the Director's" Page to inform you of some new changes regarding the Tri-County
Forestry & Woodlands Pageants. The first major change is that the Tri-County pageants are officially under new direction.
The 2009 directors are Mrs. Jennifer Ward & Mrs. Amber Langford. We are both very dedicated and very excited about the
upcoming year for the Tri-County Pageants! Our promise is to give our time, respect, encouragement & full support not
only during the "pageant season" but whenever you need us! We also demand the same dedication from our contestants, parents,
queens, and anyone else directly involved with the Tri-County Pageant system.
*Please scroll down and take a few minutes to learn a little bit about the new directors.
AMBER
Hello & welcome to our "meet the director's" page! My name is Amber (Whittle) Langford and I am
a 28 year old mother of two wonderful girls, Abby (7) and Katie (2). I have been married for eight years to my hardworking-football
loving husband, Jason. Our family resides on the outskirts of Hartford, Alabama. My oldest daughter, Abby, is a 2nd
grader at Northside Methodist Academy where she is involved in cheering & sports. Abby has recently showed an interest
in pageants over the past year and after competing in her third pageant she captured the title of Little Miss Tomato.
I don't think that I have ever seen a child so happy to represent a tomato but we are always proud! Our youngest
daughter, Katie, is a free spirited, comical, and creative litlle girl that never slows down. I'm not quite sure that the
world is ready for her just yet! My husband, Jason works at Fort Rucker as an aircraft mechanic and he loves his job.
When Jason is not working, he, along with the rest of our orange & blue family, are cheering on our Auburn Tigers!!! As
for myself, I am a graduate of Geneva County High School and have decided to make the small town of Hartford a permanant
residence for our family. During the day I am either at home taking care of Katie (and keeping Gracie some days for the
Wards), at Abby's school participating in her activities, or helping my mother-in-law, Joan, manage the local Merle
Norman. A little over a year ago, Joan & I took on a tremendous challenge by opening a Merle Norman Cosmetics &
Gifts store in Hartford. I love helping her run the new business and am so excited to see where the future takes us!
I'm sure you are thinking: How does this woman qualify to co-direct a pageant? Well, plain & simple- We are going to find
out!!! Directing the Tri-County pageants is an awesome & exciting adventure to take on, especially since my family has
not really been involved in the "pageant world" until this year. I could never imagine directing this pageant without my best
friend, Jennifer Ward. Jennifer and I have been very close friends for over 15 years and she has been involved in pageants
for about as long as I have known her so I am looking forward to learning this unique world of pageantry through her. I promise
to give my very best to make this a superior pageant and one that you will be proud to compete in for many years to come.
Please don't ever hesitate to contact Jennifer or myself with any questions or concerns that you may have. It has been my
absolute pleasure to share a little bit of my life with you and I can't wait to meet you all in January!!!!
God Bless & Good luck,
AMBER
JENNIFER
Hello everyone! My name is Jennifer Ward. I am originally from Hartford but now live on the outskirts
of Slocomb, Alabama. I have been married to my wonderful husband Jerry for nine years. I work at Wiregrass Electric
Cooperative and Jerry is a graphic designer. We have two beautiful daughters, Madison (5) and Gracie Jo (2). Madison
is in kindergarten at Slocomb Elementary School where she is a cheerleader on the Slocomb Pep Squad. Besides cheerleading,
Madison loves pageants and gymnastics. Gracie Jo is my wild indian. She keeps me and everyone else on their toes.
So between my children and work I stay pretty busy. I have been involved in the pageant industry for quite some
time from competing to judging on local and state levels. However, after getting married and having children I've taken
a long break from pageants but have been back in the "pageant world" for a few years now since my oldest daughter decided
she LOVES competing in pageants. Last year was our first year competing in the Foresty and Woodlands program and I must
say the state pageants were a blast! All the girls had a great time. My oldest daughter took first alternate at
the State Forestry pageant this year and is currently the reigning Tiny Miss United States Woodlands. I am exited to
be co-directing the Tri-County Foresty and Woodlands pageants this year with my life long best friend, Amber. We are
dedicated to this pageant and can't wait to meet the new Tri-County Foresty and Woodlands queens in January. See you
soon!!
